> > Soames nodded. “I’ll warn the president, and Mr Carnifax,†he said, reaching for the phone.
> Would this be the Carnifax?
|
You might think that. I couldn't possibly comment.
> > VelcroVixen sighed and reached for her travel bag. “Well then, I’ll be on my way. I’ve decided not to apply for the Borovia job. I don’t want to have to wear the padded suit and the purple mask. And I think I’ll avoid the Factor X recruitment drive. That could turn nasty, and anyhow I don’t see Vassily as being much fun in the sack.†She looked thoughtful. “Is Koo Koo Ka Chu seeing anyone right now?â€Â
> She needs padding?
|
She does for a Beth von Zemo costume.
> > “Both of us are, Daniel,†agreed Symmetry. “Your father didn’t care enough to arrange for your return.†She reached out and touched painted black fingernails to his cheek. “How fortunate for you that your mother did.â€Â
> I thought Symmetry as the chronicler was bad enough...
|
I felt she might have the potential to be a problem.
> Mind you, this presupposes that (a) she is telling the truth, and (b) that she understands the Hood any better than last time.
|
Indeed.
> > “If that Doomwraith gets free then he can suck the life out of everybody on this hemisphere is under ten seconds,†CSFB! noted. “Suck it worse than the new Flash Gordon series. That’s what they’ll be doing first – freeing M’Rak.â€Â
> There's a new Flash Gordon series? Please, not another "Buck Rogers in the 26th Century"...
|
I haven't seen the series, but Kirk has been vociferous in his critique, and since he and CSFB! tend to have the same media tastes I felt it was fair to allow Dream to express such a sentiment.
> > “Ohhh,†grumbled the foetid biomass beneath their feet, bubbling a little as it regenerated. “You two aren’t going to let me be dead in peace, are you?â€Â
> For some reason I was reminded of the scene in Highlander II where the protagonist informs his deadly enemy that he had "been dying until you sent those two idiots after me".
|
Does that mean the Shoggoth has a Scotch accent?
> > “I don’t need to scratch you,†the Shoggoth countered. “All I need to do is this.â€Â
> > Then he ate Visionary.
> Well, Visionary once ate the Shoggoth. Fair's fair.

The Shoggoth has madness in his method.
