There are other factors involved too.  The tie-in mentions a lot of them.  You'll get an impression of Shema's thought process works - that she considers multiple possibilities at once, and why she didn't want to take a chance.  You'll also see that Shema behaves something like a confident teacher, having confidence in Lara's intelligence and forcing her to come up with the answers.  And how they use very few words to communicate.

Oh, and I split the tie-in into multiple parts so I can post each one quickly, but that means it's going to be in small parts.
