Subj: Friday comes, and of course, no rebate yet

I'm in the first group that's set to receive their rebates, according to orders of SSNs.

I filed electronically through Turbo Tax, having my tax payment charged to my credit card.

My payment went through April 11, and the IRS says I'm supposed to receive my rebate May 2.

That would be today, but even though I signed up for direct deposit to my account ... nope.

I suppose I should take some comfort in the fact that, from what I hear, I'm not the only one who should have received their rebates already, but didn't.

After a full year of emergency expenses, the rebate - plus my bonus check from work at the end of this month - were what I was relying upon to finally pay off my credit card.

I got paid by work today, so it's not like I'm destitute, but I am anxious to clear that debt.

After that, it'll only be a few months until my last student loan is paid off.

But goddammit, I want that rebate NOW. I NEED to have one less fucking thing to worry about.

And before anyone asks, the IRS "help" lines were no help at all, nor was the Web site, because they all said the same thing - "Information about your account is unavailable" - which is another response that a lot of people have apparently got.
