...planned to extend the calendar around the year 2000 or so, but they had budget cuts and bureaucratic time wasting, and they never quite made the deadline.

At lot like the y2k issue in the 90's.

Don't get me started... The only reason I had a happy new year in 2000 was because I was up in HH's attic, and had too much alochol in my system to be called. I still held my breath on the rollover....
