I've been commissioned to write a short Robin Hood story for a magazine to act as an "advert" for the book - not an extract of the novel, a seperate yarn. And yesterday I wrote the script for the comic-book tie-in, again a seperate narrative. I'm told that won't be out for quite a while though; the artist's expected to take 8-12 weeks.

Quote: I always pictured him dark haired...In 12th Century England, hair colour was almost a racially telling as skin colour today. The Saxons and Vikings were red-haired. The Norman conquerors were Aryan blonde. Locals of old Roman lineage were dark-haired. The three types mingled a lot but most of England's rulers - and a lot of their bastards - were blonde. A lady with noble Saxon and Norman ancestry might well be red-headed. Quote: Great news. I will also try to look for it in christmas timesLet me know if you have problems finding it. Apparently the last one was banned in Australia according to Al B. (or at least the shipping there cost more than the entire print run).

Subject: Nice! And a map, eh? Maybe that's what some of my stories need to keep people who read it from getting lost... [Re: And the Hooded Hood wrote it, of course] Posted Sat Nov 26, 2011 at 08:21:51 am EST (Viewed 472 times)

Subject: Admit it; you just did the map to further rile up the purists who objected to your placement of Sherwood, didn't you? :) [Re: And the Hooded Hood wrote it, of course] Posted Sun Dec 04, 2011 at 06:36:41 pm EST (Viewed 578 times)
