I read a couple-page preview, but it was mostly rehashing "Waiting for Superman" as an origin story for the new kid. And does he remain a kid? He looked to be about 12 in the comic. I have an issue with someone named "Spider-man" being a little boy.

Otherwise, I don't really have much opinion on it at all. It seems like a pointless exercise in publicity, at most. If the character turns out to be in any ways decent then it's a shame he's permanently in the shadow of Peter Parker, and that hardly seems like it's doing a favor to diversity in comics.

Boy or man... It does not matter to us... He will also be EXTERMINATED!!! Only the Doctor can stop us....

We will EXTERMINATE all spiders everywhere if we must! In fact, we have a really great deal on extermination costs. Feel free to drop us a line!

Hmmm... I tried to find the intersection of all of our current memes, but I couldn't quite get there. Came close though:

I did manage to catch up on X Men First Class finally, however, and enjoyed it though suggest it would have been better titled "Magneto". He owned that movie.

A bit choppy in places, but overall I enjoyed it too. I can't help but think it would have benefited from just considering itself a full-scale relaunch of the X-men and using the more interesting characters that made up the original first batch of mutants, however.

Still, as you say, it was mostly Magneto's show and well worth it for that.

was surprised to hear it was a massive, multi-issue event, but it did look fun.
