Thanks to those of you who were enquiring about our well being in the flood over here. Just a quick update for all, we're all okay. I live a good 10km north of the CBD and the Brisbane river so am high and dry. A few of my colleagues have not been so lucky with flooding on their properties, and work has flooded, but, thankfully, no one I know has lost their lives. My uncle and cousins managed to get all the possessions out of their grandmother's apartment before it went under. The clean up in Brisbane is underway and we're all helping out. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers. It's going to take a while but we'll bounce back! Al B.

Whilst it's surely been devastating for those directly affected, the TV journalists here seemed to go out of their way to find interviewees who'd live up to the stereotype and give it the full Paul Hogan. "That's not a flood... this is a flood."

Subject: It's good that you're safe, obviously. We actually had some minor flooding out in our neck of the woods this past weekend too. [Re: Al B. Harper] Posted Wed Jan 19, 2011 at 10:17:33 pm EST (Viewed 362 times)

Thankfully the hallowed turf is safe. Not that it did us much good this summer.
