In the past, some people have posted news articles about people (usually not the most physically fit) dressing up in superhero costumes and doing good deeds, such as changing a tire, escorting a drunk person to a taxi or engaging in protests for a cause (Fathers 4 Justice?).

Sorry, but I don't count that as being a REAL Kick-Ass esque superhero. You never open a Spider-Man book and see him changing someone's tire or see Batman helping an inebriated person get home (except perhaps as a throwaway joke). You might as well be dressing up for Halloween.

No, a real superhero to me would be someone who puts his or her life on the line to stop real criminal activity. And this guy did.

This guy from Seattle, who goes by Phoenix Jones or the Guardian of Seattle, wears a black-gold suit, along with a bullet-proof vest and stab-plates. He carries a nightstick, mace, a taser and tear-gas! He has been stabbed multiple times and even shot at. Just a couple days ago he stopped a carjacking in progress.

"KIRO Eyewitness News reports that a Lynnwood man, identified only as "Dan," came "within seconds of having his car broken into" on Sunday when the alleged crook was chased off by a masked crusader. In an incident that local police couldn't confirm to TPM, Dan told KIRO a man with a metal strip was trying to unlock his car in a parking lot when help showed up out of nowhere."

Even the authorities are getting in the game, warning vigilantes they are at risk of getting hurt or killed.

Some are suggesting these events are staged. And others say this guy is just a nutjob.

Read the full article and watch the video and draw your own conclusion.

Which is why, traditionally, most real-life vigilantes are guilty of starting the trouble themselves.

This reminds me though, I'm curious to see that movie coming out called "Super".
