I've been thinking of bumping off Lee for some time & now have for the 2nd, 3rd time. But we could have been further down the road on Bookman deaths. Way back in 2005, I came up with an idea of how I wanted him to die. If you go & look at how he died recently there are some similarities. That's part on purpose, before Lee went to big Library in the sky I was talking over his death with Ian & I alluded to his story fragment which he used elements from. The Lair Legion Mansion Lair Island Parrodipolis Monday Morning The Lair Legion is gathered in the Meeting room for the typical Morning Meeting. The Legion is gathered around the table. Hatman is standing up at the head of the table going over this morning's topics. Sitting close to the other end is Lee Bookman. He doesn't normally come to the morning meetings, he doesn't have to (being an Associate Member). But, today, he desided to sit in on one. He has confirmed what has been said about the Morning meetings before, they are boring. As he sits there sort of listening to what Hatman is saying, he doodles on a notepad. He writes a few sentences, then waves his hand over it & changing the text into different languages. Then, gets old very fast. Then, he notices that some red liquid is dripping on to his notepad. He puts one of his fingers into it & smells it. It's blood! It's his blood! Lee tries to not draw attention to him bleeding, he finds out that he's bleeding from the mouth. The meeting continues. Lee then starts to cough. First it's a small cough. Then, it escalates into a major coughing fit. Now the whole Legion is looking at him. That's when he starts coughing up blood. It's going everywhere! "Somebody get a Medic!" Hatman yells. Flapjack, who was hanging out in the corner, runs to call an ambulance. People stand around Lee as he continues to cough up blood. A few get it on them. Lee falls to his knees, he puts his bloody hand on the table, then it slides off as he falls to the ground, the coughing has stopped. The Legion stands around looking at each other. Then, Hatman leans down to Lee. "Lee, Are you alright?" Jay gets no reply other then the blank stair from Lee's eyes. Jay feels around for Lee's pulse. He either has none or He can't find it. "Well?" Dancer asks. "Is he dead?" "I think so." The death of Lee Bookman puts a dampner on the whole day. Most of the legion leaves & the rest just mope around the Mansion. While Flapjack was cleaning up the blood. He found a notepad covered in Blood, but the blood spelled out a series of words (or what Flapjack assumed was words). Later that day, Dancer when down to the File room. For no other reason then it reminder her of Lee. As she walked towrds the room, she noticed the light was on. She also heard something. Someone was talking & she could hear the sound of paper rusiling. With some hope that it would be Lee, She run towards the room. Once at the doorway she saw standing amoungst the paper's & other things, was a crouched over person wearing a tan trenchcoat. "Lee?" she said, with some happiness in her voice. The person turned their head to look at her. It wasn't Lee, but for some reason It reminded her of him. The person has a shaved head & a scar going veriticly down the right side of his face over his eye. "Who are you?" she asked with some anger in her voice. This mystery man was looking throught the private files of the Lair Legion & quiet possibley Lee's private things. The man said nothing & went back to looking throught the files. "WHO ARE YOU?" she asked again, this time yelling. The man said nothing. With anger she ran at him & past right through him. He was a hologram. As Dancer had desrupted his form, he disappeared. That was what I had written. Who that mysterious figure was would have been revealed as David Bookman, Lee's Son. So, I've been thinking of bumping Lee to replace with his Son for 5 years. I don't have many stories that don't go unwritten for that long. Well... there is a few others which has gone unwritten for longer but that's a different story. But getting back on track: Lee's Death. What Flapjack found on the notepad I never thought out completely. I'd probably say it was his last Will & Testament. I could probably see this course of action running for a months & have Lee return in some grand fashion. But then when that would happens what happens to David? Well, we will have a chance to find out if his dad ever returns for the dead.

It's nifty to see these "what-if?s" from time to time. I have a few beginnings to stories stowed away on my hard drive as well. It's definitely interesting to see how long these plot points have been cooking in your brain.

It's fun to look at stories that might have been. Thanks for sharing!

I felt like i needed to post something & felt this was semi-timely. I do have at least 2 stories ready to post but the the Boards' continuity is not yet up to the point so they set awaiting that moment.

If I have an idea I think is good, I'll keep it in the back of my mind & wait until I find how to use it. I have another half finished/half thought out story idea that involves a member of the French Tourist Board & Reality TV that I might post later on.

anime.mangacool.net (10.0.255.1) using Apple Safari 4.0.5 on MacOS X (0 points) Something like Lee Bookman turning around just as a huge bookcase is collapsing on him, and he says, "Oh crap, irony" just before he's killed. Or maybe he teleports to the Library and there's some teleporter accident, and DD and ALFRED fight with each other and throw blame over his burned corpse.

The collapsing bookcase might have been ironic but a bit too obvious. The burnt corpse option just seems wrong on so many levels. |
