Sure, they're super cute versions of Marvel characters... but I can't help but think the sheer scope of this show looks fun based on these images: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=97104&id=6883542487 And then there's this cast-list (both actors and characters) that looks incredibly cool: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1388589/fullcredits#cast Look at that cast! George Takei is playing Galactus, for crying out loud... From what I had read, the show had more of a Parodyverse spin on the Marvel Universe. There was a lot with the heroes hanging out and some serious mocking of the conventions of the genre. I was totally sold on the show. But then I see this, which I guess is maybe the opening theme song sequence: http://superherosquad.marvel.com/ And... I have no idea what to expect. I mean, aside from the really crappy computer animation, it's... maybe intentionally bad like an 80's show? I mean, the "I hate those squaddies!" line... that's gotta be meant to be taken in an ironic way, right? I have no idea what to make of this show. | |

But just looking at the voice cast, I don't care if this is so bad it's good or so bad it's bad....those actor/character voice connections are enough of a mindfuck to make its existence justified. I mean, House M.D.'s monstrously needy and co-dependent Dr. Cameron's voice attache to the Wasp? William the Bloody as Reed Richards? Nathan Patrelli as Hawkeye? SPONGETONY STARKPANTS? Wow... And yes, the CGI looks lame, like a pseudo-3D DS video game, but I have a feeling that the sheer absurdity of the show will make it worth watching. www.rubysworldcomic.com |
