A surprisingly well made fan movie (about 40 min. long) has been created based on notes from Tolkien on events between "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings". From what I gather, this film cost only $3000, but then I believe most everyone involved donated their time and talents. Having seen some extremely low budget productions before, I have to say I was impressed... especially with the cinematography.
