Wow - it's been so long, I'd nearly forgotten how to add a new post. (There's a verification code? The future is now!)

How's it going? I've been insane-o busy, but I've been lurking as much as time permits. (As soon as I get a spare moment, I'm going to tackle that Moderator saga - looks cool!)

I probably won't be able to maintain too strong of a board presence, but I thought I'd say hi, and I'd love to catch up with y'all. How about this? If you reply with an anecdote or update from your recent life, I'll reply with one of my own!

Great to see everyone's still pumping out stories. If I get some time to catch up on my reading, I'll make sure to spare an extra few seconds to toss in a response.

Here's an anecdote from my life:

I was covering a local talent show when I witnessed the most perfect definition of irony ever.

While all the rest of the contestants were adults and grade school kids performing songs, there was one high school kid performing stand-up.

His entire set was ripped off from a Dane Cook routine, word for word.

As is always the case with my writing, please feel free to comment. I welcome both positive and negative criticism of my work, although I cannot promise to enjoy the negative.

You'll need more than a spare moment, that puppy is long! And the Doorman series spins out of the Moderator Saga...

This week-end I'm moving into my first house (renter, not buyer). It's an older house, but it's a 4 bedroom with a basement (non-carpeted though, plywood), so I'm very excited to have so much room! It's also right across the road from my fiance's place, so when she moves in after we're married she can still walk to work, and for the next few months we'll be nice and close!

Sounds good.

Middling.

There's a whole chapter about spiffy's murder in it, as I recall. #47 I believe.

Bah. I'd expect at least two anecdotes for one of mine. 2.5 maybe.

We could certainly use them right now.

Oooh, a journalistic anecdote! Hm, I'm sure I've got one of those...

Well, Thursday afternoon, I'm scheduled to interview Michael McClure, one of the original Beatniks alongside Kerouac, Ginsberg, Waldman and the whole bunch. He was at the Human Be-In in '67. He read poetry to lions in the San Francisco Zoo. I'm very nervous.

(I talked to him briefly today, right after he woke up from a nap. Cheerful fella.)

I clearly have much to learn.

Yeah, I noticed 'Doorman' popping up on the board. Probably not the dude from the Great Lakes Avengers, huh?

That's wicked! And congrats on your engagement, by the way.

I just joined the executive of my condo building's board of directors. I'm tasked with fixing cracks in the stucco. I know nothing of stucco. I don't even really know what stucco is.

Also, after two recent plumber visits for two different problems, my shower continues to give me exciting new troubles. Hooray for home ownership...

Wow! I'm oddly flattered; after years of lurking, my character still has enough pull to get murdered. You guys are so sweet.

Fine, you get one free anecdote. Ummm...

Ooh! In January, I had the honour of performing in a festival called the High Performance Rodeo. I called my performance 'An Exercise in Self-Bondage'; I stripped mostly naked in front of a crowd, then proceeded to apply a ball gag, cuffs, collar and rope while they listened to a pre-recorded monologue. I now have a reputation that I would never have expected.

Looks pretty active around here! Unless I'm missing something.

Apparently it helps keep out the riffraff. Well, most of them...

I'm in the final stretches of the video game development that's been keeping me busy for years now. (It's cheerfully called "Damnation"). That more or less excludes much of a life beyond that. That doesn't really count as an anecdote, but perhaps as an update...

Either way, it's good to hear from you. The Parodyverse's big 10th anniversary is this fall, after all...

Unless Champagne turns out to be Jarvis in disguise, it's a poster who's never really met you who's enjoying slaughtering you. Congratulations.

Mind you, she probably knows more about you than the rest of us by now. She's probably got photographs of the whole bondage thing in her files. She may know why you were able to get your hands on the kit so easily.

We have around half a dozen really active posters writing and replying, which gives a good level of new material on the board. What we don't have is enough posters to give feedback which sparks off the chat and fresh ideas that are part of the fun of this place. I recently stopped posting a daily stoy I was running because people either weren't interested enough to read it or didn;t want to comment on it - it sucked the fun out of doing it for me.

Nope. I'd tell you more, but that would be a major spoiler for the Moderator Saga.

I admit I don't understand the appeal of condos. I mean, you "own" it, but you still have to pay condo fees. I didn't even realize condos had boards of directors.

In a 3 week span my car broke down twice to the tune of about $4000. Hooray for car ownership.

Tell me about it. And now I cant sign in as Dancer because theres a password I dont have on the Dancer name!

It is fun. You should also check out IW's Caphan Untold Tales thing. Its really good and needs more exposure.

You should have a stong board presence. Youre one of our very few remaining old guard and its better when your around. We love you!

Also, its not as much fun mocking you when youre not here ;-P

You so need to write me out of that dungeon you tossed me in 4 years back. That was shaping up to be the ultimate spiffy story. Also Id love to see how you write now, how your writing has evolved and developed now youve evolved and developed.

Anecdote? I live in a chalet by a sea cliff. After our recent earthquake its 6 feet nearer the sea cliff! The landlord has however put up a rope so that were all perfectly safe now.

Loved your own anecdotes, even the bondage performance gig one. Ive always turned down offers to do that kind of show, even the quite well paid ones \:\-\) Ball gags make me drool.

Anyhow, please stick around. We miss you.
