The providers of the webspace for the Hooded Hood's Homepage of Doom, plusnet.com, have removed the website because it "exceeds their webspace allowance".

I can't really complain given that I haven't paid them for the webspace for over eighteen months since I stopped using them after their gross incompetence in sorting out some connection difficulties I had at the time. What is does mean is that I'll have to sort out a new site somewhere to lodge the material that was on there. I'm open to suggestions.

How much space does it all take up? Since it's probably at least partially the fault of this site (the denial of service attacks last month probably affected links to the board as well) so I feel somewhat responsible.

You're more than welcome to upload things to my new site. I just need to give you the access code and you can establish a Vizh folder all of your very own.

I don't really know. Certainly over 100mb, maybe over 200mb. It's work stuff as well as PV stuff.

Don't worry about it. I've been meaning to migrate for some time, since I've had to rely on dial-up to add new material after I stopped paying a regular fee to the old host site.

This literally couldn't come at a better time, on the first free day I've had for months, a day I set aside for "troubleshooting". Hence I spoke with my current ISP provider and established that while they couldn't offer me the space I needed at a sensible price they could and would offer me a £24 a year ($48) discount on what they were currently charging me. The place I finally went with is giving me three months unlimited space and a domain name free then charging me £1.45 a month thereafter ($2.70) for 250mb. I'm in a mood to negotiate today. The world should tremble.

What this means is that some of the links on the PVB need revising.

The LL Living Room is now at http://www.chillwater.org.uk/HH/index10.htm

The FAQ is now at http://www.chillwater.org.uk/HH/faq.htm

The Who's Who is at http://www.chillwater.org.uk/HH/who's%20who.htm

The Links Page is at http://www.chillwater.org.uk/HH/links.htm

It'll take me a while to migrate everything across, but I hope to be fully moved by this time tomorrow.

The Hooded Hood's Homepage of Doom can now be found at www.chillwater.org.uk/HH/

It'll take me a while to upload all the material again. I may wait until I've been able to correct the links to the reply threads (they all became invalid when Jason has to shift domains a few weeks back) for the newer materials.

The stuff has been uploading for over three hours now and shows no sign of finishing yet.

Noted. I have a lot of disk space across several domains if things get ugly.

I'm always in a mood to negotiate. The world doesn't seem to notice, though.

Fixed, and I made them look cleaner too.

Oh, and if you notice the Printable feature is missing. That's because I'm going to do a more comprehensive review of which screen elements are absolutely necessary to avoid having printouts use up every drop of ink. It's going to take an entirely new View layout to do that, which means I can make one suitable for archiving at the same time.
