Simon Maddicks took the beating with surprising aplomb, not even swearing when his assailant slammed her shapely yet well muscled thigh into the side of his neck. She followed that up with an open palm strike that would have shattered the Butcher Bird's jaw if he hadn't ducked clear. He wasn't able to avoid the uppercut that knocked him backwards through the elaborate aquarium tank that dominated the luxury apartment his attacker was house-sitting.

"Anvil Man is going to kill you for that," Simon told her as he struggled to stand amongst the flopping fish.

Gamona the assassin withdrew her vibro knife fromm its sheath and pounced on Maddicks, "Why have you come here, Killer Shrike?"

Over the hum of the blade that was just inches from his jugular Simon answered, "I was looking for you. I need to find a couple of your old pals so we can shut down this New Lair Legion."

"Why would I be interested in helping you?"

"Because things ain't right, that's why. The Legion, they're making it impossible for villains to earn a dishonest buck. You heard about Plan 42?"

The Parodyverse's most acclaimed assassin had. After a raid on Akiko Masamune's Magna Town headquarters the Legion "revealed" that the pink clad crimelord was a Space Fandom, an extra-dimensional doppleganger that replaced its victims for reasons unknown. The Moderator and his minions claimed it was part of a "Secret Infestation" and to counter it, they would begin relocating any persons who met certain "Fandom criteria" to a detention center in the Negativity Zone. The media had reported over 35,000 people had already been sent to the prison, a significant number of which were super-powered individuals (including the aforementioned Anvil Man), "And you have a plan to stop this madness?" Gamona asked incredulously, though she did loosen her grip on Shrike's topknot.

"Well, not me, personally. But there's this kid who does. And he seems pretty much on the ball. But what we need is some transportation and muscle. That's why I came to you. We need to find your old playmates Gamma Ray Gary and that D'ur Cell dude. You got any idea where they're at?"

Gamona turned off the vibro knife and let Simon lumber to his feet, "If necessary, I can find them."

"Well, look around, Greenie: unless you like living in a dystopian police state where the good guys win, I'd say its pretty damn necessary."

A fun meeting between two professionals. I enjoyed the nods to recent Marvel doings, as well as the suggested expansion of the cast. Well continued! Shame about the fish, however.

I always liked Gamona as a character, and would like to see her rep as a kick ass killing machine brought back a bit (Jay's use of her during the Parody War was a great start)

I wanted to try and get Gary and the Yellow Flashlighter involved in the shooting the Shoggoth into space subplot. Hopefully Hatty feels the same and doesn't mind picking up on it.

The line was a joke, really. I didn't have any plans since HH already has done the "keep your bliss or save reality" twice with Hatty. Plus if anyone writes a story taking a swipe at One More Day it should be you.
