I've secretly made a few changes to the board software, and have a few more pending.

Done already:

1. Search feature now can search by year and month, and file attachment.

2. Display formatting features have been updated; a) You can change them from the index page now (the pulldowns next to "Displaying"), b) even if you don't have Javascript enabled (see the "Go" button?), and c) The settings from your profile are overridden by the browser settings, so you can have them set differently on each computer/device you have. This was done specifically because Subject view looks better on my iphone, and Threads looks better on my laptop.

3. A very old accidental bug has been fixed. Used to be that posts from those with an account would be labeled as such so they can be edited more easily. Unfortunately if your login name changed that feature wouldn't work for old posts. So now the software uses an ID tag system for that instead. This may cause a few issues until all of the old verification code is located and removed.

4. Display Name in your profile updates as you edit it now. Yay!

5. Massive speed improvements on the index page!

Soon to come:

1. Soon you'll be able to use Rich Text to edit your signature and Display Name in your Profile, plus in e-mail and private message forms. It'll just take some time to get it working.

2. Notifications will work not only if you're logged in, but also if you use an email address and password to set it. You can use that same email address and password to check your notifications.

3. iPhone/portable device auto-detection and reformatting of displays to make the most use out of very little screen space.

4. More templating/icon support (finishing replacing links with icons, and making every page template-compatible).

5. Various bug fixes that will improve the efficiency of the software, including the search page not un-checking Search All.

Fortunately when I transitioned to account ID's I made this script that repairs any missing ID's from the message base in about 2 minutes.
