HH summarises for the slow of reading

What you need to know to read these stories:

a) Visionary is now the father of eleven year old twins, the slightly-disfigured fairy princess Magweed, and the wannabee-mythical-creature Griffin.

b) It's nearly Christmas.

c) That's it. Go read and reply. Maybe add a chapter.

I do not suspect that holding the board to ransom is going to encourage anyone who hasn't already replied to do so.

I fear it will merely stifle the momentum and community engagement that has already occurred by those of us who have been involved.

Which is a pity if so.

I don't want to put words into Shep's mouth, but I'm pretty sure she'd see herself encouraging people to participate, not blackmailing them.

Shep does feel bad often because she can't reply herself more often. To get to somewhere that she can actually post forms online she has to jog or cycle four miles into town and use the library or an internet cafe, which she has often done; so she naturally feels that folks who don't have an eight mile round hike to reply to stories don't have a lot of excuses.

I admit that I'm struggling to retain enthusiasm in the current poster-interaction doldrums. I've therefore written to some posters to check how they are and encourage them to join us and I've prepared this easy-to-reference list so that folks can take another look at what they might have missed.

Visionary isn't sure when he'll next be able to find time to write again.

I think we're at the point that the real excuse for people not posting is that they don't care to anymore, which really can't be argued against. I have been impressed with the level of participation from those posters still around though.

Thanks for doing that. I hope your efforts bear fruit.

The intention is well founded, I just suggest the method is doing more to harm the existing participation than develop more at this stage. Case in point (and not to single him out) Hatman below wondering if he should wait to post his story or not.

Having said that I've found Shep's "demands" for replies fun before, in the wonderful arc that introduced Kat (aka Mrs Epitome) to us (the actual name of the storyline escapes me at the moment) for example.

> Shep does feel bad often because she can't reply herself more often. I'm aware of the effort it takes for her to post and appreciate she is still involved via email through you. That's dedication!

I also appreciate reading her stories too though...

I hope it works! I've received emails from Kirk and KS and Visi before when I've been absent for a bit and really appreciated the effort they made.

I hope you too can get over your lack of enthusiasm. I still have a few more weeks holidays and would like to read some of your work knowing I have full time to savour every delicious detail. I'm sure I always miss stuff when I have to catch up in the usual fashion.
