---------------
It was drizzly afternoon in Goth Haven. There were people running about, trying to remain as dry as they could. One person who didn't mind the rain walked down the sidewalk at a moderate pass, she had grown up with it either: raining, threatening to rain or have had just rained.
Catherine Gillespie was making her way over to a local diner. She checked her watch for she was meeting someone there. She didn't want to be late, her Meetee hated being late and hated waiting for people who were late themselves. She turned the corner at where Grey meets Shepherd, it was just a few short blocks up Shepherd to where it meets Montgomery & Catherine's destination: Mama Sara's Good Food & Hot Drinks Emporium.
Once there, she stops to take in the diner it's self. It was a throw back to time & place Catherine never knew but likes. It's had some classic American charm, like many thing in that section of the city which hadn't yet been subject to Mayor Macklinberg's "City of Tomorrow" project. The place looked be from the '40's or '50's, but had only been around since the '70's. Catherine crossed the small parking lot, went up the four or five steps up to the door & opened it. As she entered the pretty much empty restaurant, the bell on the door jingled a bit. On the inside the 1950's look prevailed: The black & white checked floor, the brushed chrome everywhere, vinyl booths, a Jukebox in a far corner playing hits from artist who almost all are now dead.
"Hey, Girl." came a voice from behind the corner. It belonged to a big, both in personality & appearance, black woman "Come here & let Mama Sara give you a hug".
Mama's dark black hair was up in a messy bun. She wore a well worn crocheted sweater over her stained white apron. Under both of those was a t-shirt & a pair of jeans. On her feet were a dirty old pair of tennis shoes.
As the woman made her way around the counter, Catherine had only time enough to push back the hood on her well-worn black Hoodie (it was now frayed in places & kind of grey in color now). She shook out her raven hued hair a bit, in it was a few light blue highlights which shined a bit under the Diner's lighting. Over her left shoulder was her olive drab messenger bag. She might tried to resist the hug but she knew there was no resisting a Mama Sara hug & just let it happen.
After the hug, she needed to take a few big gulps of air because most of her air had been squeezed out of her. Mama Sara just stood there looking her over. Catherine noticed that after a few minutes & then asked. "What?"
"Nothing, girl. It's just been awhile since you've graced my humble purveyance of good food & good times with your presence. Just seeing if anything has changed. Give me a quick spin?" Mama Sara said as she twirled her left index finger in a small circle.
Catherine, a bit unsure of wether or not to do or not, she did it anyways, she walked around in small circle. Then asked "Is that ok?"
"Yes'um. Will we be having the usual: Waffles, a side of bacon & sourdough toast with a nice large ice cold strawberry shake to finish it all off?"
"No." Catherine a bit sad since it sounded so good. Mama Sara looked a bit shocked.
"I'm meeting someone here."
Mama Sara got a happy look on her face & then asked "A Man?"
"Yeah, my Dad."
"You mean the one who.." Mama Sara started to say but was interrupted.
"Yes. The same."
"He's coming here?"
"Yes." Catherine said, paused & then continued. "Is that ok?"
"It's more then ok! It shows a real sign of pro gress that he'd come all the way across the country to meet you here."
"Actually he had some business to do in Parrodpolis, I'm just a side benefit to the trip."
"Don't think that way. I'm sure there more planning to this then that given what you've told me about your father."
"There might be. I don't know."
"So, do you want to be at the counter or a booth?"
"I think a booth would be best."
"Alright." Mama Sara said picking up two menus & headed towards one of the many booths that lined one of the walls of the building.
Stopped at one, turned & asked. "This ok?"
Catherine shook her head yes & sat down on one side of the booth, the side facing the door. As she sat down she took off her bag & placed on the seat beside her. From then on she began to wait, for she was an hour early.

Next time is a little bit of lunch, some nice conversation & what ever else I feel like throwing in.

She orders they all the time & eats them frequently. But, the question that you should ask will she ever eat some during a story!

>
>
>

>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
