Okay, team line-up.
Hatman
CrazySugarFreakBoy!
Visionary
Dancer
Yo
Sorceress
Donar
Hallie (support staff)
The only copyright infrigement I'd be worried about would be Vizh; either his name and/or his outfit would have to be tweaked. Since Donar can be said to be based on the Thor of norse mythology as opposed to Marvel or DC's Thor, I think we'd be okay there.
This particular cast allows for great fight scenes, a love story, product placement (Hatman using sports caps), and comedy. My only concern is there's nobody there for CSFB! to really annoy (I ended up cutting Mr. Epitome for Sorceress), so I think Hatman would have to take that role.
I could easily cut Hatman from this line-up in favour of Sir Mumphrey (who in the first movie would have to be an old man with time manipulation abilities as opposed to a cosmic office holder), as I think Hatman brings the least to the table, other than the potential product placement since Vizh can fill the straight man role. Otherwise I like this cast for unique abilities/personalities as well as very different visuals, allowing for easy identification from the audience.
Maybe we should do a series of QORN where a line-up is given and we then have to come up with a plot for that specific cast? Just to change it up a bit.
As to a plot, I think I'd perhaps try something like the earlier appearances of the Parody Master, with the PM manifesting in other hosts to try and conquer the planet. At the end it would be revealed that the Hooded Hood had been pulling the strings all the way, setting up the Hood as the villain for the sequel.
I wouldn't do an origin story for the team, rather just jump right in treating them as established characters and getting the audience up to speed on the way. For an origin story, I'd consider a League of Regulars spin-off, with Visionary (who would be the key figure in the PM's defeat at the end of the first LL movie) being the tie between the two teams.
That's all off the top of my head, anyway. Of note I would like to get Mr. Epitome in the mix (for the CSFB!/Epitome feud), so that might be good in the sequel.

Swap out Visionary and Sorceress for Trickshot and spiffy, and you get my roster.

You could probably get away with keeping Vizh as he is (Marvel hasn't gone after Astrobase Go for The Impossibles, after all). The liscencing fees for Hatty could get pricey.

Well, if you kept Epitome you'd have to drop the romance angle, unless there was some other couple you planned on establishing.

I think Hatty's necessary to the line up because A) he fits the superhero archetype better than anyone else and B) his powers would be a lot of fun to see on screen.
A Sir Mumphrey movie would probably work better without the Legion elements, I think.

The way board responses are going that may be asking for too much.

That could work.

No origin does make thing simpler. My idea was to have the team already established and have someone (Dancer probably) join the team so you can introduce the cast through them.

I don't think Epitome would work well in a Parodyverse movie.

I added Sorceress for a Hat/Sorc relationship angle and only left out Tricky because I was worried about copyright stuff. We were to do a triology route I would probably drop a couple hints towards Vizh/Hallie in the first movie.

I was hoping to do it the other way where companies were trying to get their products placed into the movie, rather than pay for specific licenses. Otherwise you could just make up your own hats.

No, I didn't have a romance angle really until I added Sorceress. We could always introduce supporting characters for love interests, but since we're starting with a fairly large cast I don't want to add too many extras, tempting as it is.

I think his powers would be fun on screen, and I suppose he brings a calming influence to at least CSFB! as well.

I would pay to see that.

Well, it eliminates the need to come up with your own cast, and just do a synopsis of a plot you'd use with a certain line-up. At worst we try it and it flops?

Of the cast I listed I'd agree Dancer would be best for the Kitty Pryde "Pryde of the X-Men" role. Minus the puffy jacket.

What about Alcheman? He might be fun on screen.

He could work. I originally created Alcheman to eventually join the Legion because I thought he would fit in better, then went ahead with Epitome because he wouldn't. I go back and forth in my head on whether or not that was the right decision.

No Flapjack? I'd hate to see the casting call that goes out for that role...

I'm always surprised that people think Vizh is problematic. At most, I could see having to lose the yellow diamond, but that's about it.

Nah... I agree with shrike... Hatty's needed for the action/FX possibilities.

Hey, I'm pretty sure you're supposed to be in charge of the QORN anyway. I think I read it somewhere.
By all means, spin the casting wheel and see what people come up with...

Yes, because after seeing that line-up in action, Visionary is the character people would most want to see spin-off.

Bah... It was the right decision. Not that I don't love Alcheman, but the Legion has enough nice guys.
And I personally think that Epitome would work in a Legion movie for just that reason, although I'd understand if you'd rather see him star in a solo film.
