> > > Actually why didn't he think of changing his name?  Really it is like walking around every day being named Fredrich Hitler.  People will make assumptions about you, spit in your face, maybe even assault you before you have a chance to speak.
> > I guess he feels an obligation to his deceased war-hero father and his died-of-heartbreak mother to stay true to his heritage.
> Ironically his died-of-heartbreak mother would probably have wanted him to change his name and make something of himself separate from his old name.

Since his parents made no attempt to dissociate themselves from the name why should Tom? It's not as if the Legion wouldn't see through any name change in a second. They'd just interpret it as another attempt at deception on his part.
> Of course now it seems he'll relive his legacy another way.

Possibly.
> > > The dark energy thing doesn't sound good, though.
> > Not especially, no. Somewhere in Paradopolis Chiaki just got an unaccountable headache.
> Liu Xi, you mean?  Green Kaos energy sounds Chinese.  Lara Night may get a headache too if she's anywhere nearby.

I was thinking Chiaki, given her possible ability to know when trouble is coming.
> Besides, Chiaki doesn't get headaches.  She just mysteriously shows up during his date with Asil to deliver a threat.  Except unlike the others threat Tom received, he'll clearly see in her eyes that she means it, and she's perfectly willing to kill him if she deems it necessary.

I don't think it's yet possible to pinpoint the source of the disturbance in the force. There's a widespread unfocussed disruption over the city.
