The one thing I do understand is it looks like he's up to the point now where he won't need Liu Xi any more. So now I guess the question is whether he lets her go now that he doesn't need her, or whether he tries to tie up loose ends by trying to kill her.

Of course by then she'd also realize the Void Scholar is bent on death and destruction, and she'd do her best to perform nothing of the sort, even if she's angry, so she doesn't fall into the trap and contribute to it.

> Now the spoiler-y part: It doesn't look like the Void Scholar's plan will work completely. The big glitch seems to be the Portal of Pretentiousness. Without Kerry to root him in reality, he'd likely become obsessed with it, ignoring even the person the Void Scholar set up for him.
