> "State your Name & Dimension!" The woman said.
>
> She was sitting beyond her gun metal grey metal desk. On it was an over sized, antique look book. In her hand was a Bic pen. She was dressed in all the latest Work attire for 1958. Her mousey brown hair was done up in a bun. She was seated in her metal frame chair with a leather cushion & was currently looking over her horn rimmed glasses at her current client.
>
> "What?" her client said.
>
> The woman sighed & then repeated what she had just said, this time with a slight tone of anger to it. "State your Name & Dimension."
>
> "Uh..."
>
> "Come on, Come. It's not that hard." She said angrily. She calmed down a bit. "So, what's your name?"
>
> "Uh..." The Client repeated. She was dressed in an orange polyester jumpsuit. On it's back was spray painted in stenciled lettering: PRISONER. On the Client's feet were her dirty old combat boots. The boots had little white skulls painted on them, the paint was chipped a bit. Her short golden brown hair was done up in two short ponytails. She was seated on a similar chair.
>
> "Your name is Uh?"
>
> "No."
>
> "Alright. I thought was a bit odd for someone of your species. Entities normally named Uh are not humanoid in form. The last one I meet was a.. uh.. thing that resembled my Aunt Mabel's tuna noodle casserole." She said with a laugh.
>
> Her client gave a weak laugh in reply.
>
> "So, do you know where you were last?"
>
> "Uh..."
>
> "It's ok. Take your time." She said & then picked up her coffee mug (which read: A #1 Cosmic Being) & took a sip of the liquid contained.
>
> "I remember Iowa."
>
> "Iowa, The State?" She asked before writing something down in the book.
>
> "Yes."
>
> "The one on Earth, right?"
>
> "There's another Iowa?"
>
> "Yes. A couple in fact, but that's besides the point. So, what do you remember about Iowa?"
>
> "Death & Destruction."
>
> "So, this is an interesting version of Earth's Iowa then I normally hear about?"
>
> "Maybe. I was sent to a uh... Death Camp."
>
> "By Who?"
>
> There was a pause & then The Client said "My Father."
>
> "What? You didn't clean your room or something?"
>
> "No. I made a powerful man mad at me."
>
> "By doing what?"
>
> "Making Cartoons."
>
> "Cartoons were going to get you killed?" She said with some skepticism in her voice.
>
> "Yeah. I guess." The Client said with a shrug of her shoulders.
>
> "So.... What's the last thing you remember?"
>
> The Client thought for a few moments & then said. "A fight. The Powerful Man fighting a bunch of people in costumes."
>
> "You came from an Earth with Super Heroes?"
>
> "Yes."
>
> "Were they plentiful?"
>
> "Sort of. I'm not sure since I found out that those who I were the Heroes were Villains & vicea versa."
>
> "Alright." She said before writing down more in the book.
>
> After that she asked another question. "You know the Baddie's Name?"
>
> "M something." The Client said.
>
> "Ok. Was he new?"
>
> "No. He'd being around for sometime, as far as I knew."
>
> "That doesn't help me, Memories are be faked. You know anything else besides his name starts with an M?"
>
> "He wore a trench coat & a fedora."
>
> "Frequently?"
>
> "Yeah, I guess. He wore it every time I saw him."
>
> "Ok." She said & wrote down more stuff.
>
> "But the fight wasn't the last time I remembered. I got hurt, broken an arm & my hip."
>
> "Ok."
>
> "Then, it's a bit hazy & then I ended up in your waiting room."
>
> "Hmmm..." She said tapped the pen against her mouth & then said. "It seems your were either Deleted, Denied or Retconned. Definitely one of those three. Maybe all three, depends on the powers at work."
>
> She then wrote some stuff down.
>
> "You know you might want to get some new Magazines, the ones' out there are pretty old." The Client said.
>
> "Yes, we could. But then that would upset the cosmic balance."
>
> The Client raised one of her eyebrows in puzzlement.
>
> "Yes. I know it seemed stupid but the balance must be kept in the little things or the next thing you know sentient Turnips have taken over & we're all forced to do the cha-cha for time & all eternity because you wanted new Magazines." She said with a smile.
>
> "ok."
>
> "Yes. Moving on. Is there anything else you've remembered about your self, besides your Father sent you to a Death Camp like a Name, birth place, shoe size, childhood crush, ATM pin number, etc.?"
>
> "Um.." The Client said.
>
> "Yes?"
>
> "Kat."
>
> "The Animal?" She said somewhat puzzled.
>
> "No. The name."
>
> "Your Cat?"
>
> "Yes. I think. Kat, spelled with a K."
>
> "Alright." She said as she scribbled out the what she had just written & wrote something else.
>
> "So... your Kat, from an Earth where a trench coated individual who's name starts with an M ruled, right?"
>
> "Yes. No. Maybe."
>
> "No, maybe?"
>
> "Yeah. I'm getting thoughts that the World was wrong."
>
> "Well many Worlds are wrong. It's cosmic balance: you've got to have wrong worlds to have right ones!"
>
> "But this seemed wrong like it was fake."
>
> "Fake?"
>
> "Yes."
>
> "Possibly Fake?"
>
> "Maybe."
>
> "Did it feel like it was there to suit some singular purpose?"
>
> "I don't know."
>
> "Since we recently had the end to a slight hiccup in the Multiverse."
>
> "A hiccup?"
>
> "Yes. One necessary Dimension, in fact one of the most necessary. It got altered but it wasn't scheduled to be. See, most everyone got shunted to a pocket Dimension which happens you know. But that besides the point, this shunted world was remade to fit the plans of one man. His name was..." She said & paused. "Oh, what was it?"
>
> She then began to look through the pages of her book. She flipped, flipped & flipped so more. Then stopped. "Ah Yes. Daniel Lyle, Danny Lyle, Denial amongst other names. One of his counterparts became known as The Moderator & for some reason the 'The' is italicized. This Moderator took over an Earth. He was made the supreme Baddie & everything was made to his liking. There was also a cosmic game being played with included some big name Cosmic Beings. The only way you could have gotten higher was involve the Posters that Be & I'm not sure anyone knows how to get in contact with them."
>
> She noticed her client was confused.
>
> "Sorry. It's just that with a Saga this large, it's hard not getting excited.
>
> "Saga?"
>
> "Yes. That's what some are calling this event. So, does the name Moderator ring any bells? He is a Baddie & his name does start with an M!"
>
> The Client thought the name over & then it hit her.
>
> "Yes."
>
> "Yes, what?"
>
> "I was there."
>
> "Ok. Well, I can't send you back there."
>
> "Why not?"
>
> "The pocket dimension that it occurred in no longer exists but I'm sure it could be revisited but that would take power I don't have. You'd have to get a whole lot of people together, a lot powerful people to make it come back. But, I can return to your proper place."
>
> "Which is where?"
>
> "The Parodyverse."
>
> "The wha?" Kat said confused.
>
> "Yes, I know. But that's the name of the place."
>
> "So, how to do I get there from here?"
>
> "Easily. The Glimmer will take out that."
>
> "Who or what is that?"
>
> "The Glimmer. It's Cosmic side effect of the transfer of Matter."
>
> She could see that her Client was confused so she asked. "Your Earth had Star Trek, right?"
>
> "Yes."
>
> "Ok. The Glimmer is sort of like when people were transported somewhere. There was the fading of their image & the sparkly sparkles."
>
> "ok. Does it have an accompanying Sound effect to go with it?"
>
> "No, sadly."
>
> "So, when does this thing happen?"
>
> "Well, first you'll need a chaperone."
>
> "Why?"
>
> "They'll act as your anchor so that you'll end up in the right Dimension & not in that Turnip one I mentioned." She said with a laugh.
>
> "Does that actually exist?"
>
> "I don't know. Maybe." She said with a shrug of her shoulders.
>
> "So, who's my chaperone?"
>
> "It can be anyone but one person asked to guide back to the Life as you once knew it."
>
> "Who?" Kat asked.
>
> "Good Evening, Miss Gillespie."
>
> Kat turned to left & standing there in the corner was a tall, slender gentleman. In his right hand, he carried a grey Umbrella like it was a cane. He wore a plain looking three piece grey suit with a plain looking grey button down shirt with it was a plain looking grey tie. His shoes were pitch black & buffed to a shine. His brown hair was cut short & he was slightly balding up top. He had a neatly trimmed, well groomed Goatee. His emerald green eyes were slightly unearthly.
>
> Kat then turned back & asked "Had he been standing there the whole time?"
>
> "No. That would have been creepy. He came in from the waiting room just now, we never closed the door so he had been listening."
>
> "Ok." Kat said, finding that creepy anyways. "So... I just go with Tall, Dark & Spooky over there and it's all good in the hood?" Kat asked.
>
> "If you mean your returned to your proper place in the grand scheme of things then Yes. If not I'm don't know what you just said."
>
> "You heard me correct." Kat said as she got up from her chair.
>
> She walked over to Mr. Spooky & asked. "So, how's this thing work? I tap the heels of my boots together three times & say 'There's no place like The Parodyverse' three times?"
>
> "No, that would be silly. The first step is I need you to step out through the Doorway for me." Mr. Spooky said.
>
> "Ok." Kat said & as she did: she changed.
>
> She now wore, starting from the old rotted floor up: a pair of black Chuck Taylor All-Star high tops (They had little white skulls spray painted on to them, the paint had slightly faded). On her feet are argyle socks. Her pants are a well worn & ripped in places pair of blue jeans. Next up from that she had a plain grey short sleeved T-Shirt on. Under that shirt was a red & black long sleeved shirt. A few of her fingers had some rings on them. Her black nail polish was cracked & chipped in places. She checked out her clothes & then noticed something: her hair had grown. She now had shoulder length black hair. Catherine then frowned a bit.
>
> "What's wrong?"
>
> "Nothing really. The black hair is cool & all but I kind of liked my short blond hair."
>
> "This is your hair style in the Parodyverse. But, It is only dye & I doubt there is much to stop you from cutting your hair."
>
> "True. But will I remember my short hair?"
>
> "Maybe. I'm not exactly sure what'll you remember from all this."
>
> "All what?"
>
> "Your time on The Moderator's Earth."
>
> "I know." Catherine said with a mischievous smile. "Just messing with you."
>
> Mr. Spooky let out a small sigh & thought for a brief instance if this was a good idea? But that thought was brushes aside when he remembered what was ahead.
>
> So, the two of them stood there in the waiting room. They looked at each other & then back at the woman behind the desk. She looked back them. No one said anything.
>
> "So.... When does this Glimmer thing happen?" Catherine asked.
>
> "I can't not say." Spooky said stoically.
>
> "Why not?"
>
> "For it is something I don't know."
>
> "But you know it's coming?"
>
> "Yes. I've had many a trip to Comic Book Limbo."
>
> "What?" Catherine asked.
>
> But before she could get an answer or even a reaction from Spooky, The Glimmer happened & they left.
>

>
> Catherine opened her eyes, sat up & looked around. She it was in her bedroom & in bed. She didn't recognize it for a moment. Also she couldn't remember what her dream was about. Normally shortly after waking up she could but it was now just blank. She took the comforter off her. As she got out of bed she wondered why she hadn't change out of her clothes. But then she thought. "maybe I was just really tired."
>
> She shrugged it off. Before she left the room, She looked over at her alarm clock. It was 5 in the evening, it was almost time to leave for work. Then, her stomach rumbled & her thoughts turned to food. As she shambled over to the kitchen, she had a few random images flash in her mind: Jail, Her dad in some sort of uniform, kicking some guy in the nuts. The strongest image was of a some guy in a trench coat & a fedora. The image conjured up feelings of fear & made her right arm hurt for some reason. As she rubbed away the pain, she brushed the thoughts aside for they didn't mean anything. "Was that what I was dreaming about?"
>
> Before she could dwell on that thought any further, she past by the bathroom. The door was open & she saw herself in the mirror. She stopped & thought for a brief second that she could have sworn her hair was shorter then that. Then she thought of going back to her natural sandy blond hair color for a split second. But then those thoughts past as her stomach rumbled again. So, it was off to the kitchen to see if their was any left overs, maybe a few slices of Pizza or a Waffle or two.
